Blu-Ray help

Alright for Christmas I received a Blu-Ray player/burner. Since then I haven't played one Blu-ray disk, despite owning several.

I have VLC software which doesn't want to run it, despite the reputation to run it.

Anyone have any ideas?

OS: Win 7 64 Bit.

Maybe try Media > open disc, then select blu-ray.

Does it work at all in windows media player?

There is a problem with this and I can explain it.

Alright to play different media types you need the software and the hardware.

Back when Windows 7 started there were no Blu-ray players for PC, and Mircosoft has chosen not to buy the software needed to decode the discs so they can work.

I've never been able to play blu-rays with VLC, I've always had to use the software that came with my blu-ray drive. If you dont have the software anymore *cough* torrent it *cough*.. SPEND ALL YOUR MONEY TO BUY IT.

The family member who gave me the drive bought me an OEM version, and all the software I find out there burns, but doesn't play. ARG!

how to get blu-rays working with VLC. Though keep in mind not every blu-ray will work with this method. https://www.youtube.com/watch?annotatio ... HdZWMb3qZk
